Athena has been a speech therapist for 10 years, working in Pre-K-12 schools in NY, CA, and FL, and in homes across Southern California providing mobile Early Intervention speech therapy.
Athena holds a Master's of Communication Science and Disorders from New York University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology and is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) with good standing. She has her FL license from the Florida Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and has supervised speech therapist assistants under her license. She is Level 1 PROMPT trained as well for those families seeking help for apraxia or complex articulation needs.
She holds an additional Master’s degree in Human Factors, specializing in creating learning environments and skill building approaches that are easily accessible and maximally effective. In addition, she is particularly adept in helping toddlers move from one word to two words, and R sound speech therapy.
